Hear ye! Hear ye! Old Europe Cheese has done it again!
Old Europe Cheese was recently recognized for excellence by the American Cheese Society and brought home three medals from the 2019 ACS Competition in two categories:
- Category: Camembert, made from cow’s milk
- Bronze Medal: Old Europe Cheese 8 oz Camembert
- Category: Soft-ripened flavored cheeses, all milks
- Bronze Medal: Old Europe Cheese 3 kg Brie with Herbs
- Silver Medal: Old Europe Cheese 3 kg Brie with Black and Green Peppercorns
Old Europe Cheese will be adding these medals to our collection already including four gold medals, one silver medal, and six bronze medals from the American Cheese Society.

About the ACS Competition
The American Cheese Society Competition is the largest judging and competition of its kind for American-made cheeses. The competition is held in an effort to shine the spotlight on American cheesemakers by showcasing their talents and work as leaders within the industry, both for their excellent cheesemaking and commitment to food safety. The competition takes places each year in conjunction with the ACS Annual Conference. Winners are announced at the awards ceremony held during the conference.

Old Europe Cheese began handcrafting artisan specialty cheeses in Benton Harbor, MI under the Reny Picot brand in 1987. Since then, Old Europe Cheese has set its focus on the production of soft-ripened Brie and Camembert as well as some semi-soft cheeses, including Gouda, Edam, Fontina, and Mantoro.
All equipment in the Old Europe Cheese factory is state-of-the-art and designed exclusively for use in the manufacturing of the company product line.
